DES MOINES, IOWA ? The Drake men's tennis team pushed its home-court winning streak to 32 en route to rolling off their 11th straight victory with a convincing 7-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday (March 11) at the Drake Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs carried a 1-0 lead in singles play after sweeping the double competition.
Senior Sergi Vila (Barcelona, Spain) pushed his record to 12-2 on the dual campaign with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Andy Bryan at the top singles hole.
Sophomore
Maor Zirkin (Kibutz Hazor, Israel) improved to 15-4 overall in singles following his 6-3, 6-1 win versus Jesse Brauer at No. 2.
Drake also garnered victories from junior Dalibor Pavic (Adelaide, Australia), freshman
Guilherme Marsiglia (Porto Alegre, Brazil), freshman
Bokang Setshogo (Gaborone, Botswana) and sophomore
Ivan Mendoza (Wellington, New Zealand) at the Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6 slots, respectively.
The Bulldogs will aim to extend their regular season winning streak to 12 straight as Drake travels to The Citadel for a 2:00 p.m. match on March 19.
