DES MOINES, IOWA - Former Drake women's basketball player Jill Martin turned in her second straight double-figure scoring outing as she poured in a team-high 18 points to pace DCU Mercy to a 73-59 victory over Bausch and Lomb Waterford Wildcats in Basketball Ireland Women's SuperLeague action on Saturday evening (Oct. 18).

“I didn't play my best game, but it was good to come out with a win,” Martin said. “They were a tough team so it was a good victory for us to earn.”

The win propelled DCU Mercy (2-0) into a first-place tie with Team Montenotte Hotel Cork (2-0), the 2008 Basketball Ireland Women's SuperLeague champion, atop the league table (standings). Martin and her team return to action on Sunday (Oct. 26) with a home contest against the Meteors Basketball Club (0-2).
