AMES, IOWA ? A goal in the 89th minute from Julie Chen broke a 1-1 tie and lifted Iowa State to a 2-1 victory over Drake on Friday evening (Sept. 19).
The tally propelled the Cyclones to 4-3 on the campaign, while Drake saw its ledger drop to 1-5-1 overall.
The Bulldogs were bettered in shots in the affair as Iowa State enjoyed a 20-14 advantage.
Junior
Jenny Schroeder (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia) pulled in five saves for Drake in the affair.
The Cyclones got the scoring underway at the 9:55 mark when Leslie Hill found the back of net to give Iowa State a 1-0 lead.
The advantage was short-lived as junior
Elizabeth Woerle (Coon Rapids, Minn./Meadow Creek) tallied her team-leading third goal of the season in the 21st minute (20:12) to square the tilt at one.

The Bulldogs return to action on Sept. 26 as Drake faces Loyola in Chicago, Ill. Game time is slated for 6:00 p.m.
