DENVER, COLO. - In its second of three consecutive
matches against ranked opponents the Drake men's tennis squad suffered a 6-1
setback at the hands of No. 53 Denver on Sunday (Feb. 14).
Accounting for
Drake's lone point on the afternoon was junior Mauricio Ballivian (Santa Cruz, Bolivia), who
registered a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory over Yannick Weihs at the No. 1 singles
position.
In doubles, the
tandem of sophomores Jonathan Hadash (Lapid, Israel) and Cesar Bracho (Luque, Paraguay) recorded an 8-6
decision versus Fabio Biasion and Enej Bonin on the No. 3 court.
The Bulldogs will
draw to a close their three-match road swing next Saturday (Feb. 20) with a
5:00 p.m. showdown at No. 37 Minnesota.
