DES MOINES, Iowa--There is still time to register for the 2011 Bulldog Football Camp, scheduled for July 26-29, at Drake University. In addition, a one-day Senior Camp has been added on July 30 for all players entering their senior year of high school in the fall of 2011.
The July 26-29 Bulldog Football Camp is for boys entering grades 3-9 in the fall, and features individual skill instruction, offensive and defensive position training, competitive games and a complimentary camp shirt and ball.
"Our staff and players love coaching our Bulldog Football Camps," said Drake head football coach Chris Creighton. "We look forward to a fantastic July camp. Our focus is on having fun and learning more about the great game of football."
The July 26-29 youth camp runs daily from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Drake Stadium, and the cost is $140 per camper. In addition to on-field instruction, campers will receive motivational presentations from the staff and players on sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork and academics.
The July 30 Senior Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and costs $60 per camper. The camp includes skill instruction, 7-on-7 drills, linemen competitions, competitive games, a camp shirt and lunch.
"We had two great Senior Camps in June and because there was enough interest from people who could not make those camps we decided to add another camp in July," Creighton said. "These one-day camps are an awesome way for us to get to know upcoming seniors better by coaching them on the field and showing them Drake. When guys leave one of these camps/recruiting programs they have a great feel for what it would be like to play football and go to school at Drake. We are fired up about July 30th."
A Drake Football recruiting program follows the camp.
