DES MOINES, Iowa--Junior Ben Simons scored a career-high 29 points and sophomore Rayvonte Rice recorded his second consecutive double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Drake Bulldogs won a 93-86 triple-overtime thriller against Wichita State Saturday night at the Knapp Center.

It was the fourth triple-overtime game in school history, and Drake's first victory in such games. Drake improves to 13-9 overall, 6-5 and tied for third place in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wichita State is now 18-4, 9-2 in conference play. The Shockers had not lost on the road this season and entered the game with a 15-2 road record since the start of last season.
"I felt like our guys played with great passion tonight." said Drake Head Coach Mark Phelps said. "They played with great pride--Pride in our basketball team, pride in our university, and pride in each other."
