Progress continues inside the Shivers Basketball Practice Facility as the teams' locker rooms reach another step toward completion while crews have started painting the southern practice gym this week.
The fresh coat of white paint on the walls and ceiling of the facility, combined with the natural sunlight, open up the space and give the first true glimpse of what the future practice home of the Bulldogs will look like when the teams move into the facility in the fall.
The construction crews have also erected the balconies on the upper level that will overlook the Bulldogs' practice courts. Underneath that second level, the walls of the teams' locker rooms, lounges and film areas are taking shape with the majority of the drywall now in place.
As those spaces start to reach the final stages of vertical construction, may of the unique features in the facility are also starting to appear. Within the locker rooms, one can see the individual power outlets that will reside inside each student-athlete's locker along with the ducts that will individually ventilate each locker stall to neutralize the scent of the Bulldogs' hard work on the practice court each day.
