KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Drake University men's golf team wrapped up play at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate, hosted by UMKC, on Tuesday and finished in 10th-place.
Sophomore Matt Lavery fired the Bulldogs' best round of the day with a 74 for a total score of 227 (77-76-74), while freshman Tommi Avant and senior Blake Huser each recorded a 77 on the final day. Avant was Drake's top finisher, placing tied for 20th with a score of 224 (74-73-77) as Huser posted a 225 (73-75-77). Sophomore Drew Ison and freshman Jack Kennedy rounded out the Bulldogs' performance with a score of 236 (78-78-80) and 237 (77-81-79), respectively.
Overall, Drake totaled a 910 (301-302-307) at the two-day 54-hole event, while MVC foe Wichita State claimed the team title with an 878 (287-298-293).
The Bulldogs will close out the fall season at the ODU/OBX Invitational on Oct. 25 through Oct. 27 in Powells Point, N.C.
