In addition to setting a Gulf Coast Showcase record, that total tied for the seventh highest total in school history and the highest since 1981.
Weber State, a perennial Big Sky Conference champion and the league's preseason No. 1 pick, opened up the Gulf Coast Showcase with a 63-60 comeback win over Central Michigan. The win improved the Wildcats to 2-2 on the season.
Joel Bolomboy had 19 points and 15 rebounds in Weber State's win for his fourth-straight double-double to open the season.
The Wildcats are coached by Randy Rahe, a native of Bancroft, Iowa, and a Buena Vista grad. Rahe was also a member of Drake head coach Ray Giacoletti's staff at Utah.
Tuesday's game will be the second meeting between the two programs. They last met on Nov. 27, 2010 as part of the Great Alaska Shootout. Weber State won that meeting, 82-81, when future NBA star Damian Lillard hit a pair of free throws in the final seconds.
