DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's golf team will return to the links on Monday (March 9) for the first time in a month at the third-annual Colleton River Collegiate at the Colleton River Plantation Club in Bluffton, S.C.
The tournament will be held on both the Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus Courses, competition will begin with 36 holes on Monday, March 9 at the Jack Nicklaus Course, before concluding with 18 holes on the Pete Dye Course Tuesday. Both days will begin at 8:30 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
Michigan State is hosting the event and will be joined by Boston College, College of Charleston, Connecticut, Creighton, DePaul, Detroit, Drake, Miami (Ohio), Oakland Rutgers, South Dakota State, Tennessee and Xavier.

Drake finished fifth at the WIU Carlton Oaks Invitational with a three-round team score of 958. Devin Leland (Huxley, Iowa) led the Bulldogs with a 54-hole score of 237 (77-82-78) to finish tied for 15th in the individual standings.
The Bulldogs posted the third lowest third-round score of the day to improve one spot on the final day of the two-day event staged on the par 72, 7,117 yard, Carlton Oaks Golf Club.
Will McDonald (Tulsa, Okla.) finished one stroke behind Leland in a tie for 17th place by carding a 238 (81-80-77). The Bulldogs' three remaining competitors all finished within five places and two strokes of each other as Matt Lavery (Peoria, Ill.) fired a 242 (82-82-78) to finish tied for 20th. Drew Ison (Edmond, Okla.) tied for 23rd with a 243 (82-80-81) and Dane Worley (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) finished with a 244 (83-82-79) to tie for 25th place.
