PEORIA, Ill. – All five Bulldogs finished in the top 20 through 36 holes of the Bradley Invitational on Friday, April 3, putting the Drake University men's golf team in third-place out of eight teams.
The Bulldogs posted a score of 586 (286-301) and are just one shot behind host Bradley and five strokes back from leader South Dakota.
Individually, freshman Matt Lavery carded a 143 (69-74) in his hometown of Peoria, Ill., good for third-place and just a single stroke from runner-up. Fellow freshman Drew Ison (Edmond, Okla) tallied a pair of 73s for a total of 146 and is tied for sixth, while Will McDonald (Tulsa, Okla.) registered a 150, good for tied for 14th-place. Two strokes separates McDonald, Devin Leland (Huxley, Iowa) and Dane Worley (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), as Leland is in 19th-place with a score of 151 (73-78) and Worley posted a score of 152 to be tied for 20th.
Drake will wrap up its weekend on Saturday with the final 18 holes of the Bradley Invitational.
