NORMAN, Okla. – Drake University men's golfer Dane Worley was named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Wednesday, July 22.
Worley, a senior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, led Drake with a 75.3 average per round over 33 rounds. He placed in the top-15 in four tournaments with his best finish coming at the Bradley Invitational, placing tied for ninth. In the classroom, Worley maintained a 3.64 GPA, majoring in business finance.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
