MADISON, Wis. – The Drake men's soccer team scored two late goals to rally past Wisconsin, 2-1, on Saturday morning at the McClimon Complex.
Late in the exhibition at the 77:20 mark, redshirt sophomore Nick Manzoni (Orono, Minn.) scored the Bulldogs first goal on a shot that glanced off a Badger defender before finding the back of the net. Just over six minutes later freshman Nic Jaimes (Olathe, Kan.) dribbled in and blasted a shot past Wisconsin goalie Casey Beyers for the game-winner.
Wisconsin scored its lone goal at the 36:56 mark in the opening half as Mike Catalano collected a ball in the box and snuck it past Drake goalie Darrin MacLeod. MacLeod finished the match with 12 saves.
Saturday's exhibition was the final preseason tune-up for the Bulldogs. They will host Pacific in the season opener Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at Cownie Soccer Complex.
