Box Score LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Wyoming Cowgirls soccer team knocked off the Drake women's team, 3-1, Sunday afternoon at Louis S. Madrid Stadium.
Drake (2-4) fell behind 3-0 before freshman Alyssa Brand (Skokie, Ill.) scored the Bulldogs' lone goal at the 86-minute (85:51) mark in the second half. Brand leads the team in goals scored with three this season. Senior Kylie DeHaven (Olathe, Kan.) tallied her first assist of the season on Brand's goal.
Shaina Ashouri scored Wyoming's (2-0-3) first two goals, with the first coming at the 35-minute (34:35) mark in the first half and the second just moments in to the second half at the 46-minute (46:18) mark. Alyssa Murray tallied the final goal for the Cowgirls late in the game.
Drake continues its season-long road trip with road contests at Omaha on Sept. 11 and Saint Louis on Sept. 13. The Bulldogs return to Cownie Soccer Complex on Sept. 20 to host in-state rival Iowa State.
