OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton Bluejays defeated the Drake University men's soccer team, 6-1, Tuesday night at Morrison Stadium.
Creighton (7-4-1) scored four first-half goals to help secure the victory. Drake (3-9-1) senior defender
Mason Leonard (Overland Park, Kan.) converted a penalty kick for his second goal of the season. Leonard, whose first goal of the year also came via a penalty kick conversion, scored in the 39
th minute (39:20) after a hand ball was called on the Bluejays in their box.
The Bulldogs were led in shots on goal by freshman forward
Leroy Enzugusi (Marion, Iowa) with two.
Nic Jaimes (Olathe, Kan.) and
Jake Taylor (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) each recorded one shot on goal. Taylor had two shots.
Tuesday night's match in Omaha closes out the non-conference slate for Drake, which returns to Missouri Valley Conference play on Saturday at Missouri State. First kick with the MVC leaders is set for 6 p.m. in Springfield, Mo. The contest will be broadcast on
