NORMAN, Okla. – No. 46 Drake University men's tennis fell to No. 15 Oklahoma, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Okla.
The Sooners jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning a hard-fought doubles point, winning 6-4 at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively.
Oklahoma's Adrian Oetzbach defeated
Tom Hands, 6-2, 6-0 to give the Sooners a 2-0 lead.
The Sooners' Stefano Tsorotiotis extended OU's lead to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-4 win over
Ben Wood at No. 6.
Ferran Calvo, who is ranked 40th in the nation, clinched the 4-0 Sooner win with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over
Barny Thorold.
The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround as they play a doubleheader at Tulsa and Oral Roberts on Sunday. First serve is set for 10 a.m. against the Golden Hurricane.
