LINCOLN, Neb. – The Drake University men's tennis team prevailed over Nebraska, 4-2, Wednesday evening at the Dillion Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb.
The Bulldogs managed to secure the doubles point to go up 1-0.
Ben Clark and
Finley Hall earned a 6-3 win at No. 3, while
Tom Hands and
Ben Wood clinched the point with a 6-4 win at No. 2.
Hands extended his singles winning streak to four matches as he won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, over Dylan Bednarczyk at No. 3 to give Drake a 2-0 advantage.
Vinny Gillespie put the Bulldogs up 3-0 with his 7-5, 6-3 victory over Linus Erhart at No. 2.
The Huskers managed to cut Drake's lead to one point, 3-2, with wins on court No. 6 and No. 1, respectively.
Clark secured the Drake victory as he defeated Isaac Nortey in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, at No. 5.
The Bulldogs will close out the regular season on Sunday at Illinois State.
