Norman, Okla. - Drake University men's tennis newcomer Evan Fragistas won two matches on the first two days of the ITA Central Regional to advance to the round of 32 in the event.

Fragistas defeated Nebraska's Andre Saleh Friday, 6-2, 6-3, to advance after earning an opening-round bye Thursday.

Fragistas also teamed with fellow newcomer Luka Jankovic to make it to the round of 16 in doubles action before falling to the Oklahoma team of Hammond and Hudd, 8-3. The duo advanced to the final 16 with an 8-6 win over Iowa's Allaf and Tyler in the round of 32.

In addition to Fragistas, the Bulldogs had three other singles players competing in the round of 64, but all three fell in their matches Friday.

Action in the round of 128 Thursday saw Luka Jankovic beat Omaha's Hugo Piles, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 and Barny Thorold handle Tulsa's Daniel Siddall, 6-7 (3), 6-2, 6-4.

Fragistas' weekend is set to continue Saturday at 11 a.m. when he faces Minnesota's Jackson Allen.
