Bulldogs Win Six Matches on First Day Of Bulldog Hidden Dual

Competition resumes Saturday at 9 a.m.

DES MOINES, Iowa - Members of the Drake University men's tennis team won a pair of singles matches and four doubles matches Friday afternoon during the opening day of the Bulldog Hidden Dual.

Playing as two-man teams, Drake's competitors swept all the doubles points with the teams of Reid Jarvis and David Nyman, Barny Thorold and Finley Hall, Evan Fragistas and Freddie Powell, all claiming 8-4 wins.

Hall and Fragistas also won singles matches to help their teams collect team victories. Hall defeated Marquette's Fran San Andreas, 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 while Fragistas beat Creighton's Stratton Brown, 6-3, 7-6 (1).

Play continues at the Bulldog Hidden Dual Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
