DES MOINES, Iowa - Following back-to-back decisive victories at home, the Drake University men's basketball team gears up for its third game in a row at the Knapp Center against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (3-2) Thursday, Nov. 21.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast locally on Mediacom MC22, streamed on ESPN3 and on the radio at ESPN 1350.
The Bulldogs (3-1), who remain undefeated at home, are coming off a convincing 98-53 victory against the Simpson Storm Sunday. The team cruised by early in the game, with a 19-0 run shortly after tipoff. In a career-best performance on multiple fronts, first-year guard
Joseph Yesufu led the team in scoring with 16 points and steals with four, padded by six rebounds, three assists and a block.
Roman Penn will look to continue his streak of full-court consistency, coming away from the weekend's game with 13 points, seven assists, and three steals. Penn has been a valuable asset for the Bulldogs on both ends of the floor, following his transfer from Siena last year.
For the Mountain Hawks, junior center James Karnik led in the team's last game against Misericordia. Karnik saw a strong performance across the board with his second double-double of the season, coming away with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Drake and Lehigh have met twice before, but not since 1984, with Drake winning both those meetings.
Following Thursday's game, the Bulldogs will head to Estero, Fla. for the Gulf Coast Showcase, a tournament hosting eight teams from around the nation. The tournament tips off for the Bulldogs Nov. 25 against Miami with two games following.
