In all five of Drake's wins, the team has held its opponent to fewer than 60 points.
Drake committed a season-low nine turnovers.
Drake's defense held Northeastern's Jordan Roland to just 13 points. Roland came into the contest averaging 26.8 points per game.
Drake improved to 1-2 this season and 4-10 over the last two seasons when trailing at halftime.
The win was Drake's third under Darian DeVries when shooting worse than its opponent.
Drake attempted 20 more shots than Northeastern. Drake's 59 attempts were its third-most this season and its 19 makes were tied for the fewest.

PLAYER NOTES

Roman Penn scored 15 points and has scored in double figures in three of the last four games. In those four games, he is shooting 20-of-37.
Anthony Murphy scored 10 of the Bulldogs' first 23 points to record his fifth game in double figures this season. He finished with a career-high 17 points and dating back to last year has scored in double figures in eight of his last 10 games. He also tied a career-high with three three-pointers.
Garrett Sturtz notched nine rebounds, five offensive. Despite only standing 6-3, he has 26 rebounds in his last three games.
With Liam Robbins picking up three early fouls, Brady Ernst was counted on to fill valuable minutes. He came into the contest not having played more than four minutes in a game this season but saw seven minutes in the first half.

Drake moved to 1-0 against Northeastern.
Drake is now 3-2 all-time in the Gulf Coast Showcase. The team has wins over Western Kentucky (2015), Pepperdine (2015) and Northeastern (2019).
