Men’s Basketball Returns To The Road To Face SIU

Bulldogs aiming to record their most wins since 2007-08

The Drake University men's basketball team travels to Carbondale to complete the season series with SIU Tuesday evening at SIU Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

Earlier this season, the Bulldogs defeated SIU, 82-70, in the Knapp Center. Noah Thomas poured in a career-high 24 points points for the Bulldogs in that win while Nick McGlynn added 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Drake has won six of its last eight contests including three of its last four road games. To give the team 18 wins this season. Those 18 wins to date equal the program's most wins since the 2011-12 team won 18 games.

In its last game, Drake defeated UNI, 83-77, in scoring the second most points the Panthers have surrendered this season. Brady Ellingson and freshman D.J. Wilkins led the Bulldogs in that win as they never left the floor and combined for 30 points, eight assists and no turnovers.

McGlynn had 22 points in that win become the 25th Bulldog to surpass the 1,000 career point mark. He also needs just five more blocks to become the program's all-time leader. He is averaging 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in MVC action to lead the league in rebounding and rank fifth in scoring in league games.

Following Tuesday's contest, the Bulldogs return to the Knapp Center Saturday, Feb. 16, to host Valparaiso.
