LINCOLN, Neb. - The Drake University women's tennis team had no answer for a powerful Nebraska squad in a 4-0 loss Saturday at the Cornhuskers' Dillon Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs dropped the doubles point with a 6-2 loss at No. 3 and a 6-3 loss at No. 2 to open the match and then dropped No. 2, 4 and 5 singles in straight sets to seal the match. The remaining three singles matches were left unfinished after Nebraska (5-5) clinched the match. However, the Bulldogs were leading in two of the three unfinished matches when play was halted.
The Bulldogs (3-4) continue play in Lincoln Sunday morning with a 9 a.m. neutral-site match against Wyoming.
