Women's Soccer Hosts Home Opener Against Baylor on Friday

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Cownie Soccer Complex

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake University women's soccer team will kick off its home opener against Baylor at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 at the Cownie Sports Complex. The matchup will be the first between the schools.

Baylor was picked to finish second in the Big 12 this season and was slotted No. 14 nationally in the preseason coaches' poll. The Bears earned a 4-2 victory over Northwestern State in their first game of the year.

Drake lost its first two matches of the season at Colorado and Denver, respectively. Both matches were 2-0. The Bulldogs were picked second in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll.
