Drake vs. Illinois State Postgame Notes

TEAM NOTES
  • The win was Drake's 14th-straight at the Knapp Center dating back to Jan. 30, 2019. Illinois State is the last team to defeat Drake at home. 
  • Under head coach Darian DeVries, the Bulldogs are 23-2 at home and 10-0 this season. Drake is 34-5 in the Knapp Center over the past three seasons.
  • Drake is one of only four schools in the nation that has men's and women's basketball programs with home win streaks of 10 or more games.
  • Drake scored 80 or more points for the sixth time this season to improve to 6-0 when scoring 80 or more points this year and 15-0 over the last two seasons.
  • Drake shot 53.4 percent to mark its seventh-straight game shooting 48 percent or better. During that seven-game span, Drake is shooting 51.4 percent (206-of-401)
  • Five Bulldogs scored in double figures, the fifth time that has happened this season and third against a Division I opponent.
  • Drake scored 44 points in the paint and is averaging 46.0 points in the paint in the last two games.
  • Drake's 47 first-half points were its second most of the season against a Division I opponent. Drake previously scored 49 first-half points in the first half against Indiana State.
  • Drake's 9-0 run that lasted just 1:18 in the first half was the Bulldogs' 11th run of nine or more points this season. In the second-half, the Bulldogs went on a 10-0 run its second biggest against a Valley foe this year.
  • With 4:21 left in the first half, Drake owned a 12-point lead to make Illinois State the third Valley opponent Drake has earned a double-digit lead over this season.
  • Drake owned a 47-43 halftime lead. The Bulldogs 9-0 this season and 30-2 under DeVries when leading at halftime.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Liam Robbins recorded his second career double-double and the first in Valley play with a 19-point, 12-rebound performance. Robbins' rebounds matched a career high.
  • Robbins hit double figures 12 minutes into the game to mark his 10th-straight game in double-figure scoring. During that 10-game span, he is shooting 57.4 percent (66-of-115) and 61.4 percent (59-of-96)  inside the three-point arc.  
  • Robbins added three blocks and now has 49 blocks to tie for the fourth-most in a season in Drake history. He has 84 career blocks, the fifth most in school history.
  • Jonah Jackson scored 10 points in his first eight minutes on the court to mark his fifth game in double-figure scoring. He finished with 13 points on four three-pointers, his fifth game this season with three or more three-pointers. He is shooting 20-of-48 from the arc in the last six games.
  • Roman Penn had six assists to go along with his 12 points. He has had six or more assists in 12-of-18 games this season and in six-straight games.
  • Noah Thomas' 10 points were his third-most of the season and his 14th career game in double figures. 

SERIES NOTES
  • Drake improves to 31-61 all-time against Illinois State. The win snapped a three-game Illinois State streak and was the Bulldogs' second win in the last 10 meetings in the series.
  • Drake is now tied at 14-14 with the Redbirds inside the Knapp Center.
  • Drake's last win over Illinois State was Jan. 3, 2018, in Des Moines.
