City Council Proclaims Jan. 31 - Feb. 1 As Weekend Of The Bulldogs

The Bulldogs to wear special Des Moines Hometown Team uniforms Jan. 31 - Feb. 1

The Des Moines City Council and Mayor Frank Cownie reaffirmed the Drake Bulldogs as Des Moines' Hometown Team with a proclamation declaring Jan. 31- Feb. 1 as the Weekend of the Bulldogs in Des Moines. 

Drake's men's and women's basketball teams will wear special Des Moines Hometown Team uniforms for their games during the weekend. The women's team debut the uniform Jan. 31 against Valparaiso at 6 p.m. The men will wear theirs the following day, Feb. 1, at 5 p.m. against SIU.

The one-of-a-kind uniforms pay homage to Drake's home, the city of Des Moines and Drake's commitment to be a great university for a great city. The Des Moines Hometown Team uniforms were the result of collaboration with local artist and business owner John Bosley of Bozz Prints, and feature Des Moines' iconic skyline and 'Des Moines' in script that harkens back to the Bulldogs' 1969 Final Four uniforms.
