Minneapolis -- The Drake University women's tennis team lost to Minnesota, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis. The match was closer than the score indicated.

Liza Petushkova and Joely Lomas, last week's MVC Doubles Team of the Week, continued their momentum against Big Ten competition. After besting a duo from Wisconsin last week, Petushkova and Lomas earned a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles against the Gophers. 

Maria Tatarnikova fell in a third-set 10-point tiebreaker at No. 2 singles. Lomas (7-5 in the first set) and Kelsey Neville (7-5 in the second set) both dropped tiebreakers that would've extended their matches.

The Bulldogs will look to rebound against Iowa State in their next match. Action is scheduled to begin at Lifetime Fitness in Des Moines at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21.
