Box Score NORMAL, Ill. -- The Drake University men's tennis team started its three-match road trip with a resounding 6-1 defeat of Illinois State on Thursday afternoon.
The Bulldogs took all three doubles matches in convincing fashion.

Matija Matic opened the dual with a 6-1 win at No. 2, and

Evan Fragistas put the finishing touches on a 6-2 win at No. 3 shortly after. Not far behind at No. 1 were

Oliver Johansson, who cruised to a 6-2 win to round out the doubles action for the day.
Illinois State earned its lone point of the match by defeating Matic, 6-2, 7-6, at No. 6 to begin singles play. From there it was all Drake, as Thorold finished up his successful day with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 to put the Bulldogs ahead for good in the dual.
Hall bested his opponent at No. 5, 6-4, 6-3, and Jarvis won by a margin of 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 as Drake clinched the dual. Johansson (6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 1) and Fragistas (6-4, 4-6, 12-10 at No. 3) each won in three sets to round out Drake's convincing 6-1 win.
The Bulldogs (3-12) continue their road trip with a dual at Indiana on Friday. The action is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
