AUSTIN, Texas – For the second-straight year, Becca Hittner (Urbandale, Iowa) and Sara Rhine (Eldon, Mo.) of the Drake University women's basketball team have been selected to the 2019-20 Academic All-America teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Monday, March 9.
 
Rhine was selected to the first team for the second-straight season while Hittner was tabbed to the second team after earning third-team honors last season. Rhine garnered third-team accolades in 2018. Rhine joins Jan Jensen (1990, 1991) as the only Bulldogs to be named to the academic all-American first team twice.
 
For the second-consecutive year, Drake is the only Division I program in the country with two student-athletes on the women's basketball CoSIDA Academic All-America teams. Since the 2014-15 season, Drake women's basketball has had five Academic All-Americans to lead the nation. DePaul and Oregon State are next with four each.
 
Rhine, who has already graduated with her bachelor's degree in elementary education, owns a 4.00 grade point average in Drake's master of counseling program after having a 4.00 in her undergraduate program. Hittner owns a 3.97 GPA in marketing and is a data analytics minor.
 
Rhine is one of six of the 15 members of the Academic All-America Division I women's basketball teams that sport a perfect 4.00 GPA in either undergrad or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.94, with the complete 15-member women's team averaging a 3.88 GPA.
