The Drake University women's soccer team is set to host Valparaiso on Wednesday Oct. 13 at Drake Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
The Bulldogs (6-4-4-) will be wearing pink jerseys and will be passing out a limited number of pink ribbons to those in attendance. Fans are asked to wear pink to the game to show their support.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 1-0 win over SIU. Sophomore
Emma Nagel scored her fourth goal of the season after receiving a pass from
Libby Helverson inside the box.
Helverson also records four goals this season and three assists.
Fifth year keeper
Kelsie Stone recorded another school record as she now holds the top spot for most career shutouts with 21. She set the school record for most saves in a match with 18 the previous week.
Valpo (8-4-1) is heading to Des Moines on a six-game winning streak. They recently beat Cornell College, 5-0 at home. Alexis Gaffney led the Beacons' with two goals in the match.
Kelsie James leads Valpo this season with six goals and 15 points.
The Bulldogs have won four of the last five matches up with Valpo. In their last meeting, the two tied 1-1 in double-overtime.
After playing at home on Wednesday, the Bulldogs will hit the road to take on Illinois State on Sunday Oct. 17.
