Women’s Soccer Heads to Missouri

The Drake University women's soccer team heads to Missouri to take on the Bears on Saturday Oct. 23. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. on ESPN3.

The Bulldogs (6-5-5) ended their last match in a double-overtime 0-0 draw against Illinois State.

Seniors Libby Helverson and Alison Walls combined for nine shots and three on goal.

Fifth year keeper Kelsie Stone made several key saves for the Bulldogs to keep the Redbirds scoreless.

The Bears (4-7-4) are on a two game losing streak after falling to Indiana State in their last match.

Abby Couch, a starting midfielder, scored the Bears lone goal in the 3-1 loss.

Missouri State has been out-scored by opponents 21-14 this season and have also been out-shot 215-156.

The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 12-6-3, but lost the two team's last two match-ups 1-0.

After playing in Springfield, Drake returns to Des Moines to take on UNI in its season finale on October 28.
