BURLINGTON, Iowa – The Drake University men's golf team defeated Missouri Valley Conference foes, Bradley and Valparaiso, Wednesday in a single round stroke-play event, the Spirit Hollow Shootout, held at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.
Drake tallied a team score of 296 (+8) with Bradley next at 305 (+17) while Valpo finished at 309 (+21). Each team had six individuals play Spirit Hollow with the top four scores counted for the team score in the single-round stroke-play event.
Tim Lim shared medalist honors with Caleb VanArragon of Valpo with an even par 72. Lim recorded an eagle on the par-5 18
th hole. Freshman
Jack Dumas carded a one-over par 73.
Lucas Scherf and
Shayne Patel shot a 75 and 76, respectively.
Playing as individual,
Silvester Tan, matched Lim's 72.
Zac Jenkins and
Nick Pittman each shot 78.
Drake will play its second-to-last fall tournament, the Xavier University Invite, Oct. 18-19 at the Maketewah Country Club in Cincinatti, Ohio.
