Women's Soccer Face Loyola in Semifinals

The Drake University women's soccer team is in Chicago to take on Loyola in the semifinal of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The two will kickoff at 6 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on ESPN+. 

Drake topped UNI on Oct. 28, 2-0, to earn a five seed in thr tournament. The two teams met once again, four days later. Rachel Panther scored the golden goal in the 105th minute for Drake to move on to the semifinals, 3-2. 

In their previous meeting, the Ramblers topped the Bulldogs 4-1. Senior and First-Team All-MVC member, Libby Helverson, was the Bulldogs' lone goal scorer in the match.

Four different Loyola players scored in the match, including MVC Player of the Year, Megan Nemac and MVC Defensive Player of the Year, Abby Swanson.

Loyola earned the title of regular season MVC Champions after finishing season play 7-0-1. This was the fourth straight season the Ramblers' took the crown of regular season champs. 

The Ramblers received a bye in the first round of the tournament due to their number one seeding.
