Drake vs. UNI Postgame Notes - Feb. 17

TEAM NOTES
  • Drake improved its record to 21-2 matching the 2007-08 team for best start in school history while equaling the fifth-most wins in program history.
  • Drake's 12-2 mark in the MVC is the second-best start to MVC schedule in school history.
  • The Bulldogs' 12 MVC wins are the fourth-most in program history
  • Drake is 33-18 in MVC games during the last three seasons under Darian DeVries.
  • Drake improved to 8-1 on the road this season and 17-18 over the last three seasons.
  • Drake tied a season-low with five turnovers. In its last two games, Drake has owned a +14 turnover differential.
  • Drake shot 50 percent from the floor (30-60), including 62.1 percent (18-29) in the second half, marking the 12th game the Bulldogs have shot 50 percent or better in a game this season.
  • Drake's nine three-point baskets were the most over its last six games

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Roman Penn collected a game-high eight assists while moving into seventh place on the career list at Drake with 319.
  • Penn also had four steals, giving him nine in his last two games.
  • D.J. Wilkins equaled a career-high with six assists.
  • Joseph Yesufu had a career-high 20 points, including a career-high 4-pointers. Yesufu is averaging 19.0 points per game against the Panthers this season.
  • Garrett Sturtz finished with a career-high 19 points, including 15 in the second half, while enjoying his eighth double-figure scoring game of the season. He also made a three-point basket for the first time in the last 11 games. 
  • Tremell Murphy added 14 points, marking his 11th double-figure scoring effort of the season.
  • Darnell Brodie grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds, marking the fourth double-figure rebounding game of his career.
  • Issa Samake tallied a career-high eight points, bettering his previous mark of five points from last Wednesday vs. UNI

SERIES NOTES
  • Drake, snapping an 11-game road losing streak at UNI, improved its record to 30-50 in the all-time series against the Panthers including a 6-30 mark in Cedar Falls.
  • Drake's last win at UNI was by a 47-46 decision Feb. 16, 2009
  • This marked Drake's third straight win over UNI, while the Bulldogs swept the regular-season series for the first time since 2008.
