Men’s Basketball Returns Home To Host UNI

Bulldogs aim to stay on top of The Valley race against their in-state rivals

The Drake University men's basketball team returns to the Knapp Center Wednesday evening to host UNI in the first of three-straight nationally televised games at the Knapp Center. Tipoff between the Bulldogs and Panters is set for 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

The Bulldogs return home, where they are 37-4 over the last three seasons, after suffering their first loss of the season Sunday at Valparaiso. The Bulldogs are 18-1 on the season, the second-best start to season in school history and 9-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference, which is also the second-best conference start in Drake history. Drake's 18 wins are tied for the second most in the nation and guarantee the Bulldogs a third-consecutive winning season.

UNI is 6-12 this season and 4-8 in league action after splitting a series with Indiana State last weekend.

ShanQuan Hemphill leads the Bulldogs' return to campus after posting back-to-back double-doubles at Valpariaso. The senior is shooting 57 percent in conference play as well to pace the Bulldogs and averaging 7.0 rebounds per game.

The Bulldogs homestand continues this weekend with a pair of games against Loyola on ESPN2. Game times are set for 11 a.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
