Men's Basketball Begins Arch Madness As No. 2 Seed

Bulldogs are the No. 2 seed for the second time in three years.

The Drake University men's basketball team begins postseason play Saturday as the No. 2 seed in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. The Bulldogs will the winner of the No. 3 Missouri State Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Bulldogs' Friday quarterfinal game against UNI was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols.

The contest will be televised on CBS Sports Network

The Bulldogs enter the postseason with a 24-3 record to tie for the third-most wins in program history and earned the No. 2 seed with a 15-3 record in league play. The team's 15 league wins also tied a program record.
 
That league record earned the Bulldogs the No. 2 seed in the tournament for the second time in program history and second time in the last three seasons. A win Friday would advance the Bulldogs to the semifinals for the third-consecutive season.
 
The Bulldogs also finished the regular season ranked first or second in the Valley in 11 statistical categories including scoring, defensive scoring, rebounding and margin of victory.
