Men's Tennis Ready For Regular Season Finale

The Drake University men's tennis team finishes out its season Sunday against St. Thomas (Minn.) with another home match in the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. The non-conference match will start at 1 p.m. and can be viewed at GoDrakeBulldogs.com/WatchTennis.

The Bulldogs (6-6, 4-1 Summit League) absolutely dominated Summit League opponent, North Dakota, this past weekend with a 7-0 sweep. Every single Bulldog won their singles match, while only one doubles team fell. Oliver Johansson, Evan Fragistas, Reid Jarvis and Markus Bolin all won in just two sets of singles competition. Gabriel Sardo also remains undefeated after three matches in #5 singles play.

Drake secured its second place spot in the Summit League after the North Dakota match. The Bulldogs will go into the postseason a game behind first place Denver, a team that barely topped Drake 4-3. The top four Summit League teams earn a bid to the conference tournament. Drake will play the winner of the Omaha and North Dakota match that is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday.

St. Thomas (7-4, 5-1 MIAC) is most recently cruised to pass St. Olaf 7-2. All five singles match victories were done in just two sets. Myles Krzewinski, Aashish Bharath and Anshul Bharath all managed to win both their singles and doubles matches. The Cadets will challenge Hamline University Friday before marching down to the Roger Knapp Center Sunday.

Following this season finale, the Bulldogs will prepare for the Summit League Tournament at the Denver Tennis Park which will begin on May 1.
