DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win over St. Thomas Saturday afternoon in the Bulldogs' final regular season match before next week's Summit League Championship.
 
Drake was never challenged on the afternoon, sweeping both doubles and singles action in straight sets across the board.
 
Benedek Herman got singles action started with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 followed by a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 to put Drake up, 3-0. Oliver Johansson then clinched the team win with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1. Easy wins followed suit at Nos. 3, 5 and 6 singles to keep the Bulldogs perfect on the afternoon.
 
Drake begins postseason play later this week as the No. 2 seed in the Summit League Tournament. The Bulldogs open the tournament as the No. 2 seed and face No. 3 seed Omaha April 30 in Denver, Colo. Denver is the field's No. 1 seed.
