Drake Athletics has announced a partnership with NOCAP Sports to assist its student-athletes as they navigate the opportunities to market their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).
NOCAP Sports, a comprehensive athlete marketing platform that bridges the gap between athletes, agents, brands and fans, provides Drake University student-athletes with a robust suite of tools to easily manage and maximize their NIL value. At no cost to the student-athlete, NOCAP Sports also fully automates monitoring of NCAA and university compliance rules to proactively protect the student- athlete from unintentional impacts on eligibility.
"This is an exciting time full of new opportunities for our student-athletes, and we want to provide each of them with the best technology available as they navigate the waters of NIL," Director of Athletics
Brian Hardin said. "We believe our student-athletes are uniquely positioned to capitalize on the new landscape due to the training we can provide at Drake University and being located in Des Moines, the fastest growing city in the Midwest. By partnering with NOCAP Sports, we are providing our student- athletes with the support they need and the expertise they deserve when managing and maximizing their brand."
"We are pumped to bring Drake University into the NOCAP family," NOCAP Sports Co-Founder and CEO Nicholas Lord said. "It is great to see Drake's athletic department embracing this exciting new era of college sports and equipping their athletes with the tools and resources needed to maximize their name, image and likeness. The Bulldogs are ahead of the game and we can't wait to get to work!"
NOCAP Sports owns a vast wealth of educational resources to set student-athletes up for success in the new NIL era. In addition to providing access to the most lucrative brands and deal opportunities, NOCAP Sports provide resources to teach athletes about financial literacy, social media, branding and entrepreneurship, and trademarks and LLCs.
"The fully automated monitoring system NOCAP Sports provides also will be a tremendous service for our athletics department because it eliminates the documentation burden a staff member would otherwise have to record," Hardin added. "I'd like to recognize and thank
Catherine Walker, our Assistant AD for Compliance, for her leadership in this area in preparing Drake Athletics for this new era of collegiate athletics."
Drake Athletics supports the new opportunities provided to student-athletes to pursue NIL activities. A more robust and complete NIL program for Bulldogs' student-athletes will be introduced in the near future and Drake's policy on NIL will continue to evolve. Individuals with questions on NIL should consult the Drake Athletics compliance department.
