18 Drake Relays Athletes To Compete At 2020 Tokyo Paralympics

Another week of competition awaits for Drake Relays athletes in Tokyo

A total of 18 athletes that have competed at the Drake Relays presented by Xtream powered by Mediacom are slated to represent their nation at the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

Those Paralympians have regularly brought the Drake Stadium crowd to its feet with inspiring performances and now have the opportunity to showcase their elite athleticism on the world's biggest stage.

"These Paralympians are a part of the rich tapestry of the Drake Relays and we're eager to cheer them on as they compete in Tokyo," said Blake Boldon, the Franklin P. Johnson Director of the Drake Relays. "The success of the Drake Relays' Olympians in Tokyo was a tremendous point of pride for everyone associated with America's Athletic Classic and we're equally honored for the opportunity to be a part of these athletes' pursuit of their dreams."

The Drake Relays representatives in Tokyo include sprinters, wheelchair athletes, jumpers and throwers. Four past Drake Relays champions are also among those set to travel to Tokyo.

Those past champions include collegian Noah Malone who has won both the 100m and 200m at the last two Drake Relays and David Brown who swept those events in 2018 and has five top-three finishes on the Blue Oval.
