The Drake women's soccer team returns to Des Moines to take on Minnesota in the Bulldogs' home opener at Drake Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Bulldogs (0-1-1) have a 1-3-1 all-time record against the Gophers (1-0-1) with Drake's lone win in 2003. The Gophers are coming off of two shutouts to open the season.
The Bulldogs opened their season with a double-overtime draw against Kansas and a 2-0 loss against Creighton.
Senior goalkeeper
Kelsie Stone currently leads the MVC with 19 goals and a 9.50 saves per game average. She was named the Missouri Valley Confernece Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Stone recorded 10 saves against Kansas and nine against Creighton.
Following its match against the Gophers, Drake hits the road to take on Iowa State Sunday Aug. 29. Kickoff at the Cyclone Sports Complex in Ames, Iowa is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Cyclones currently lead the all-time series with a 7-3-3 series record. In their last matchup in 2016, the Bulldogs beat the Cyclones 1-0.
The Cyclones are scheduled to play Iowa on Thursday Aug. 26, prior to their match with the Bulldogs.
