MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Drake University men's golf team opens the fall season on Sept. 13-14 at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Kansas State University at the Colbert Hills Golf Club. The two-day tournament will feature 54 holes starting Monday with 36 holes on the par-72, 7,525 yards championship course.
 
Drake is one of 13 teams in the field with the host Wildcats along with Bradley, Creighton, Kansas City, Missouri State, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, South Dakota, Southern Illinois and Wichita State.
 
The Bulldogs will be led in 2021-22 by graduate student Tim Lim, who took an extra year of eligibility awarded by the NCAA due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Lim, who has played primarily in the No. 1 position the past three seasons, is coming off earning All-Missouri Valley Conference honors in 2020-21.
 
Also, back for tenth-year head coach Matt Lewis are seniors: Zac Jenkins, Shayne Patel and Lucas Scherf and juniors: Nick Pittman and Silvester Tan. Rounding out the roster are a pair of talented freshmen in Jack Dumas and Nikko Ganas.
 
Dumas, from LeClair, Iowa, played high school golf for Pleasant Valley High School. Ganas, from Schaumburg, Ill., played for Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The two each had outstanding high school careers.
 
Following its trip to Kansas, Drake will host the annual Zach Johnson Invitational on Sept. 27-28 at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa.
