The Drake University women's soccer team returns to Des Moines after kicking off conference play on the road for a pair of matches. The Bulldogs will face Indiana State on Wednesday Sept. 29 and Loyola on Sunday Oct. 3.
Drake tied Evansville, 1-1, in double overtime in their conference opener on the road. The Bulldogs found the net behind the Aces keeper in the 64th minute when
Rachel Panther scored for the Bulldogs after
Olivia Bruce took a shot that then landed in front of Panther.
After the Bulldogs took the lead 1-0, Evansville retaliated and scored in the 80th minute to tie the match.
Indiana State (2-7-1) lost in its last match against Valparaiso, 1-0 in overtime. The Sycamores were out-shot by the Beacons 18-6, but Sycamore keeper Maddie Alexander recorded seven saves in her time in the net.
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 15-6-2.
Loyola (6-2-1) beat UNI 3-0 in its last match up. Prior to traveling to Des Moines, the Ramblers will face Evansville on Wednesday Sept. 29.
The Ramblers scored two goals early in their match against UNI. Loyola scored their third goal early in the second half and was able to stop UNI from scoring.
Loyola out-shot UNI 17-3. Loyola has also outshot opponents 121-66 this season. The Ramblers currently lead the MVC in the rankings.
The Ramblers lead the all-time series 10-7-4.
