Former Drake University men's soccer captain
Lucas Bartlett has been selected by Dallas FC in the 2022 Major League Soccer SuperDraft Tuesday, Jan. 11.
Bartlett, who trasnfered from Loyola after one season, spent three seasons with the Bulldogs. In his time, he earned All-MVC Honorable Mention, first team All-MVC, All-MVC tournament team, MVC Scholar Athlete first team, All-MVC Scholar Athlete of the Week, MVC Offensive Player of the Week, and CoSIDA Academic All-District.
During the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Bartlett led the Bulldogs defensive efforts.
After the conclusion of the 2020-21 season, Bartlett transferred to St. John's University for his sixth and final year of elligibility.
He is only the second Bulldog selected in the MLS SuperDraft. Former teammate
Leroy Enzugusi was picked 86th overall in the 2021 SuperDraft. Former Bulldog greats Ezra Hendrickson (1997), Kirk Wilson (1999), Matt Nickell (2005), Corey Farabi (2006), Chris Hamburger (2006) and Matt Kuhn (2012) were all selected in the MLS Supplemental Draft.
