LOGAN, UTAH -- The Drake University men's tennis team snapped their five match losing streak when they defeated Utah State, 4-3, Saturday afternoon. 

The day startered with the doubles portion, were the Bulldogs saw two wins. USU took an early advantage when Felipe Acosta and Sergi Mico Fenollar defeated Bulldog duo Reid Jarvis and Matt Clegg, 6-4. But  Matija Matic and Evan Fragistas  defeated David Cierny and Bodin Zarkovic in the second match, 6-4. 

Jeremy Schifris and Oliver Johansson sealed the win in the doubles portion when they defeated Auggie duo Jack Ninteman and Javier Ruiz, 6-4. 

Drake opened up the singles event with a win from Matic, who defeated Acosta, 6-2, 6-3.

The Auggiee's took an advantage when they secured two wins back-to-back. 

Schifris fell to Clerny, 7-6, (7-5), 6-4 and Johannson fell to Zarkovic, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. 

But the Bulldogs were done trailing the Auggies and Drake won the final three singles matches to take home the overall win, 4-3. 

Drake returns to action Sunday Feb. 20 in Salt Lake City, as they face Utah and Montana State.
