DES MOINES, IOWA -- The Drake University men's tennis team defeated nationally ranked Western Michigan, 4-3, Friday evening at Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs dropped a tough point on the doubles end, when
Matt Clegg and
Reid Jarvis fell to Ben George and Brogan Pierce, 6-3, for Drake to trail 1-0.
Bulldog duo
Evan Fragistas and Matijic Matic defeated Peter Kuszynski and Joaquin Caballer, 7-5, to pick up the Bulldogs first point of the evening.
Matic picked up the Bulldogs second point when he topped Anton Arzhankin, 6-3, 6-3 on his first ever apperance on court two.
The Bulldogs secured the win after picking up three set wins on courts one and three.
The Bulldogs return to the courts Sunday Feb. 27 at 1pm to take on No. 55 Wichita State.
