PADUCAH, Ky. -- The Drake University men's golf team finished in fourth at the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in the Country Club of Paducah (par-72, 7,014-yard) on Tuesday, April 26. Drake posted the tournament's third best final round total at 307 (298-303-307-908), but was not enough as the Southern Illinois Salukis hoist the 2022 MVC trophy after shooting a 294 in the final round.
Senior
Tim Lim finished in a four way tie for 10th after shooting a team low 73 (+1) on the final day. Lim jumped six spots from the second round and battled through a difficult two-over on the front nine with consistency on the back nine. Recording eight pars and one birdie on the back nine, Lim would end his day with at +8 (76-75-73-224). Making this his best round of the tournament.
After being in the top-ten through two rounds, junior
Silvester Tan fell in the final round after shooting a 79 (71-76-79-226) ending his tournament in 16th place at +10. The back-nine was a challenge for the junior as he hit two bogeys, one triple bogey, one double bogey, one birdie, and four pars.
Three Bulldogs would finish in the top-25 led by freshman
Jack Dumas who placed in a tie 21st at +16 after shooting an 81 on the final round (77-74-81-232). Despite the challenging course, Dumas would hit a team-high three birdies on the day.
Rounding out the 2022 MVC Tournament for the Bulldogs would be senior
Lucas Scherf who would end in a tie for 23rd with a score of +18 (74-78-82-234). And freshman Nick Gannas who would end in a five way tie for 25th shooting +19 (83-78-74-235).
Winning the individual honor would be Valparaiso freshman Anthony Delisanti who finished three under (74-72-67-213)in the tournament and had an unbelievable back nine. On the final holes the freshman knocked in six birdies helping the Crusaders to a second place finish in the tournament (300-297-294-891).
