MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Drake rowing team raced against Minnesota of the Big Ten on Saturday, April 9.
The format consisted of five-by-five minute and five-by-one minute timed pieces. The Bulldogs and Golden Gophers competed in first varsity 8, second varsity 8 and first varsity four races.
"We were able to learn about who we are as a team," head coach
Charlie DiSilvestro said. "All of our boats adjusted to new boats today and I was extremely proud of how quickly they came together. We had our hardest training if the year last week and everyone has worked very hard building up to this point of the season. Our team performed really well today despite being tired going into the day. We are looking forward to our next race in Iowa City in two weeks."
Up next on the Drake rowing schedule will be the Iowa Invitational on Saturday (April 23).
