Men's Basketball Welcomes Transfer Eric Northweather

A 6'10" forward, Northweather came to the Bulldogs from Truman State.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake University men's basketball team has signed transfer Eric Northweather, head coach Darian DeVries announced on Wednesday, May 18.

"We are excited to add Eric to our basketball program," DeVries said. "For someone his size, he has the rare ability to play inside and out. His shooting and playmaking ability will allow us to stretch opposing offenses."

A 6'10" forward, Northweather was a member of the Truman State men's basketball team for two seasons. Northweather appeared in 29 games including 17 starts during the 2021-22 campaign averaging 10.1 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game and was 59.7 percent from the field.

Before Truman, the Jefferson City, Mo., native prepped at Blair Oaks High School where he averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds per game as a senior. He was twice named to the All-District team and earned All-State recognition his senior year.

Northweather has three years of eligibility remaining.
