DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake men's basketball officially added Andrell Burton Jr. and KJ Tenner during the recent Fall National Signing period.
Burton Jr. is a 6'7" swingman from Wichita, Kan., rated as a 3-star recruit by ESPN and 247 sports. At Campus High School, he earned Wichita Eagle All-Metro Second Team honors during the 2022-23 season. His breakout game occurred on Dec. 13, 2022, against Newton when Burton Jr. poured in 40 points with 14 rebounds, six assists and three blocks.
"Andrell is an elite athlete with the ability to make plays with the basketball above the rim," DeVries said. "His versatility and size will allow him to defend multiple positions on the court and impact the game."

Tenner led the city of Memphis in scoring as a sophomore averaging an efficient 28.0 points per game before following that up by averaging over 23 points last season. He is a Memphis Area Player to Watch according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
"We are so excited to have KJ join the Bulldog family," DeVries said. "KJ is the ultimate competitor who cares a great deal about winning. His intensity and toughness on both sides of the ball translate perfectly to how we want to play. He does an outstanding job of making his teammates better."
Burton Jr. and Tenner will both join the Drake men's basketball roster for the 2024-25 season.
